A new plan is reaching the market and may start causing a buzz
since health insurance these says are still on the rise. Consumer
Driven Health Plans are not NEW but are now starting to show face as
desperate times are reaching its high.
The general idea behind these consumer driven health plans is to
let employees that attain group coverage though their work have a
pool of money and can choose to spend that money how they want
before the catastrophic coverage begins.
These news plans are just now being recognized after congress
authorize the use of HSAs (Health Savings Accounts) that have
similar characteristics as a 401K.
Only 2% of employers are offering these new plans and many are
very skeptic as to how these new plans will be accepted. The public
is used to your traditional plans with co-pays and deductibles for
two main reasons. One, traditional health insurance has been the
norm of healthcare in this country for a long time, Two, they really
work.
The high costs of healthcare keeps rising and still becoming
unattainable for many families nonetheless, still pursued more than
any other healthcare plan in the U.S.
